I had another look in my cupboard of memories today to uncover these little chaps:

There's a Magnolia coming into flower too but just out of range for my lazy out of the window photography and I am too idle to go a hundred yards to get a proper picture. Maybe later.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
More cherry blossom.
Had to take this from inside the tunnel due to the sun*
This is 'odd' This one is a dual pink/white but there doesn't appear to be any white.
All the trees around here have a little numbered plate on them. An arborist came around a couple of years ago identifying them and making a map and a note of their condition. Some need severe trimming to remove dead and diseased branches and some need hoiking out of the ground altogether. There are millions of trees in this area so will probably take years to complete.

(Wikipedia. Had to check as spellcheck didn't like it) *Sun. My flowering cherry has gone past the blossom time now, not so much this year because I had all my trees pruned late in the autumn. my fruiting cherry they polled and I have a feeling it's not going to recover. Some blossom on the pear tree.

Don't fork out for expensive tree pruning, wait for this year's general election and then take them to the Polling Station

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
My Tandy calculator which must be best part of forty years old finally stopped working this morning, took the battery out popped to the shops got a card of 30 assorted batteries for a quid. All back up and running, that's the first time its had a new battery so there's a lot of spares going to be sitting in a drawer forever.
