Big holes or small boiler?
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

There was a better one with Jacqueline du Pré but it was blocked.
I was trying to remember the Swedish name for trout (Forell) when Neil posted the pub thing.

Just damned noisy Mick and right inline with where I'm sitting.
I have a feeling the old girl's been conned, she's 94 and a widow living alone, she's had a boiler service contract with British Gas Homeserve for a long time and on their recent visit they told her the boiler was condemned/unrepairable and she needed to buy a new one.

Story resumed...
Even more interesting than "The Trout". So where is it..is it still in existence
Film watching compulsory if you are curious enough to find out, an onerous 3 minutes attention span required but...
Let's do it in a few screenshots, saves that valuable time but the commentary in Mr Cholmondley-Warner style with accompanying cheerful jaunty music is worth watching the film for in any case.
The film https://youtu.be/nKsSM-8iRlE
Screenshot montage including "jugged Hare" pressure cooker and Waffle Maker, Churchwardens Pipes,Mulled Stout with a hot poker, Mulled Wine warmed on the range in a conical metal container on a stick.

The Rigg and Furrow Farmhouse Brewery Tap
Somewhere near Guyzance Northumberland. Not a beer garden but a beer field, but also spacious barn like indoors too should it not be as sunny as today.

Add to the thread if you can.
This one had a guest list tonight of about 20 classic cars and their owners on a tour, and just by pure chance this rare old Alfa turned up to check in to provide an excellent photo opportunity.

As suggested by Neil The Railway Arms in East Grinstead definitely deserves a mention here. Lovely landlady who called me 'darling', what more can you ask for?

Re: Pub/Cafe Gallery and the odd hotel!
I think you may have unearthed a memory issue there bobins
I asked an old boy at the station if there was a pub nearby and he replied (I thought!) 'The Railway Arms is across the roundabout, up the hill and on the right!!' I discovered he was wrong when we found the pub on the left so he may have been wrong about the name or I may have invented it!!

Re: Pub/Cafe Gallery and the odd hotel!
I came across an excellent gallery of pictures on Flickr, following my delve into the former RAF Milfield which is the home now of the Borders Gliding Club
https://www.flickr.com/photos/borders_gc/albums/
Lots of interest in their various albums, and gorgeous photography as you might expect of views from the gliders en flight. Focussing on the BGC gallery of black and white archives of the former RAF Milfield. In its years of operation, RAF Millfield was primarily a Pilot Training Operation, and its fair share of tragic accidents on a regular basis, as outlined here...

...but also the obvious camaraderie captured in these photos of trips to the nearby Black Bull at Etal is joyous, so the Black Bull at Etal gets elected to my pub of the day today.
