Hi all,
I made a grim discovery on getting the X7 ready for new drop links. You might
Want to have a look at your towbar specifically the banana brackets. I have removed mine and I am waiting on new one to arrive. I need it for towing a 9x4 trailer so glad I discovered it. A ton of sand would pull that apart fairly easily. It doesn't look as bad in the photos but that was after beating the crap out of it to get the 5mm of rust off it and then grinding it back to solid metal but as you can see it's heavily pitted.

They must be made of the same material as the X7 steering racks!

All the tow bars I have bought I have painted them before fitting since they only seem to come in a primer black coating. Black smoothrite is the paint I usually use.
