Hi All,
I have a 2012 C3 Picasso with an EGS6 gearbox and it's just gone through an MOT with a small leak from gearbox advisory. In the past, I've used additives that condition seals that have stopped the leaks on other cars but I don't know enough to know whether these will be safe on the EGS gearboxes. From what I can make out, the EGS system is a conventional gearbox with a dry clutch that's hydraulically operated using fluid from a separate reservoir. If this is correct, then I assume any additives for manual gearboxes should be fine.
Can anyone confirm whether this is the case please?
Thanks,
Jools

Re: EGS gearbox and additives
Yes, that's correct. You'd need to work out where it's leaking from, the actual gearbox part doesn't usually leak - unless the drive shafts have been out and the seals are broken. The actuators can get a bit oily over time however...

Re: EGS gearbox and additives
Assuming the leak is from the actual manual gearbox you'll be fine, but not if it's a hydraulic leak from the piloting actuators.

That's brilliant, thanks for help both of you. The garage, I know to be a good one so I'll take their word for it for time being and hope it isn't the hydraulics. Hopefully, some sealer may be the solution.
Thanks again,
