Ds3 electrical problems

Post by Welshspider »

Hi all
I have a 1.6 BlueHDi Elegance 3d 2016, I helped a colleague charge his battery, all of a sudden my car stopped completely, and wouldn't start again. Some lights come on. But all i get is a clunking noise, a mechanic came out and said it had ground to earth or something like that. When we charged battery all cables were on correctly.
Any help would be appreciated

Sounds like you haven't connected them up correctly and blown a fuse.

We made sure that they were connected properly before we started.

I only say this as some PSA cars have an inaccessible negative, so there is an earthing point specified in the engine bay to use and further, sometimes the battery terminal is not marked as red....

Well I'd certainly start testing them - at the engine fuse box to start with to see if there's any obvious ones that have blown.
