I have a gusher of a past the ram seal leak on my X2 2000 HDi Xantia, nose plummets in minutes (leaking past the seal, and flowing heavily into the return line), and its been getting progressively worse, time to replace.
Don't look like the easiest to find, from what I can tell reading in the forums here the struts are not serviceable? I have some X1 hydractive struts here but I think those are different?
Welcome any suggestions, knowledge, sources for parts, etc.
Cheers

Re: Xantia Front Strut Replacement
Yes indeed, they're not serviceable unfortunately...
S1 Hydractive struts, if used as a pair, will get you out of trouble. They may not be 100% ideal but you'll likely not notice...
Any strut, basically, will fit except those from a V6, which are different in having a larger piston diameter. This is unique to the V6.

Re: Xantia Front Strut Replacement
Cheers CitroJim, the X2 handles sooo well compared to the X1, hoping will still be the same. Is it easy to change the gaiters over? The old ones are knackered, and gravel dusty roads could be hard on those rams if they're getting filthy all the time.

Yes, gaiters are easy to swap over And they should fit. There's two sizes but that only affects the strut top diameter, not the strut itself.

Awesome, cheers, just making sure I'm lined up before I start pulling things apart... Guess they just drop in from the top and clamp to the swing arm (from memory when I stripped the old car.
