A useful little mantra though for the thread is keep it visual. If the flow of responses ends up in post after post of prose liven the prose up with an accompanying picture. Keeps the thread visual in the main.

It's a great thread nearly 12,000 posts and 740,000 views which is quite remarkable for a single thread on a niche car forum community which generally are fading in participation and popularity. More POTD views than ever, but probably less regular active contributors right now (is there 10 at most ?).

Given we had 624 runners and thus 624 tokens to sort back into numerical order, if you added them all up, how near to 47,000 would that be? It's beyond my mathematical skills...

Not the Oxford, I put a diesel engine in it. Thanks for the CX picture Neil I've lost the one I had here. That was taken in Holland a long time ago.

I had a van nearly identical when we lived in Kent. PFN14 Canterbury Reg came from Rentokil. Put some nice comfortable seats in it and the windows, sprayed it the same colours and fitted a heater from a Vauxhall Cresta - beautiful.

POTD Ghost Sign Club

Watching bangers and cash featuring amongst other things Swift cars of Coventry, the former premises, now the Coventry Ibis Hotel retains a former sign (refurbished) for the original "cycle works"

Ghost Signs have made their appearance in POTD, a disappearing phenonemon, but many going unnoticed on gable ends and elsewhere in our vilages, towns and cities across Great Britain.

Cockermouth has a nice pair, one for Jennings Brewery an the other for Fletchers Fearless Clothing on the gable end of a former gents outfitter. When I took my pic I failed to notice the nice little police lamp above the former Police station next door.

There's a group on Facebook that specialises in ghost signs Neil. Going by how may photos get posted of them on a regular basis, there's still a lot extant in the UK...

No idea what made me think of this. Arthur Sawdon was a neighbour and this was his furniture shop, that was the fifties and sixties.
Haven't been down town in decades and it is a sad sight now.
