Peugeot 5008 Steering angle sensor

Unread post by StuG »

After some advice if possible.

Trying to recalibrate the steering angle sensor on a Peugeot 5008 2012. I'm getting the following codes. I have made sure the wheels are dead ahead. But it keeps failing and illuminating the ESP light. Does it sound like the Angle sensor/ Clock spring I purchased is faulty or could it just need reinstalling? Thanks for any help.

The position sensor was working when I checked on diagbox but then the values stopped changing all of a sudden.

Typical as it's due an MOT this month!

It could be, but what what was the original fault? It seems a bit much of a coincidence that 2 sensors are faulty, when these hardly ever give trouble however! Is it separate from the stalk unit? Does it just plug in direct or is there a wire? What happens if you plug the original in? Is anything else not working?

The old one came apart when I took the steering wheel off, we had a creaking noise which I was trying to locate, I was a bit too eager to remove the steering wheel. I pulled the original one apart accidentally, original wasn't showing any fault codes.

2 wires that plug in and is came already attached to a stalk unit, everything on the steering works, horn, indicators, lights etc. Just the code that is thrown up.

I have added a photo showing the faults from Diagbox, I have again taken the steering wheel off and cleaned the plugs and sockets with 99.9% Isopropyl Alcohol but still the same.

Is it possible to code it out for a short time until I get the part? Just need to buy some time really.
