Tow bar transfer
I am having to scrap my 52 plate Picasso sx 2.0 hdi so have removed the towbar (dealer fitted, metal work seems sound). Does anyone happen to know if it will fit my 08 plate Picasso desire 1.6 hdi, before I start a second wrestling match! Many thanks

Re: Tow bar transfer
The easiest thing will be to look on a towbar suppliers website and see if the same towbars fit both cars. It might be wise to fit new bolts to the right spec in case the old ones are not in good condition. These sites usually have fitting instructions which help.

Re: Tow bar transfer
The Xsara Picasso didn't change underneath when the new facelifted model came in, there might be the odd difference at the front end regarding the engine but thats about it as memory recalls. My concern would be the electrics, this changed i think but it might be worth transferring the dealer fitted electrics to the newer vehicle even if you mock up retro-fitting them. The dealer kits were quite basic in that one kit would do a number of vehicles and didn't come with the dashboard indicator warning light. You can use a "test light" to test the lighting if you you want after installing/retro-fitting the electrics but a proper trailer testing unit is much better for this, particularly if your vehicle has twin electrics although the trailer testing kits don't test the 12v aux wiring for freezers/interior lighting.
