hdi power loss

can anyone tell me where this pipe that can fall off and makes your hdi loose power and have a whistling turbo?

If you can hear the turbo whistling it could be that one of the air pipes between the turbo and inlet manifold has come off or punctured. On the XUD engine its the pipe from the intercooler to the pump that comes off, so the pump doesn't know that there is any boost, but I am not familier with the Hdi.

The HDI can go into limp home mode, seemlingly whenever it feels like it. If your "check engine" light is on, I'd expect it to be limping.
Isn't the HDI "clever" enough to detect when there should be turbo boost and isn't and register a fault code?

Sorry, I'm not familiar with all this electronic mallarky. I am fortunate enough to have about the last XM with a fully mechanical pump! (although I am a TV engineer).
