Strange box with a flashing light and a speaker

Trying to sort my indicator issue and need to get the cover off the BSI but there is a strange box taped to the top of it. One of the connectors has a red flashing light it it and there is also a speaker wired in. There are also some very aftermarket connectors, like jack plugs.

Has anyone any ideas what it is please?

Don't think so because of the FAKRA cable connection, so either a tracker or a hands-free or navigation system, as what would the speaker in the last photo be for? Whatever it is, looks like some form of Carlos Fandango type gadget, but isn't OEM for sure.

If you can get to the box on top where the aerial connection is and look underneath or on the box for some labels or markings, and provide those we may be able to work it out.

Maybe hands free, there is a jack poking up from the dash, looks like a power feed for something. It was pre Richard because he had no idea what it was for. I'll just unplug it and have a look. Not now though, hissing down and Wolves are playing.

Its the dealer fit Smartnav system, it's made by Trafficmaster but not the same thing as was factory fitted to the Xantaia & early C5's.

Can be disconnected & removed no problem.

Yes the jack poking up from the dash would have been for the screen, it was designed to be quickly removable so it wasnt left on display. There may also be a GPS/GSM aerial on the windscreen & a small mic at the top of one of the A pillar. A bit of a failure of a system & cant imagine anyone would have renewed the subscription once it ran out hence why most have been removed now.

Now fully removed

The feed wires are now heatshrinked and the aerial left in place, I didn't want to risk busting the screen depending what it was glued on with ,wires cut at the door rubber and stuffed under the roof lining.
