Hello, I wonder if any one can help me?
I bought a 2000 Xantia estate NON hydroactive last June.
I replaced all 6 (there are only six) spheres and the suspension was back to normal. About 5 weeks ago the car started to sink at the rear (within half an hour). The front stayed up.
I have replaced all three rear rear spheres and it is still sinking. The suspension is fine when running normally. No leaks.
It is probably not related but when I bought the car I could not hear the pressure relief valve "Ticking". I put this down to the fact that there was so much noise coming from a bad bearing - this I found out was the tensioner bearing on the cambelt. This was fixed and the engine is now quiet. - Still no "Tick" at all! Do you think that the system is running at a very high pressure?
Any suggestions please for both problems
Xantia rear sinking and no "Tick" from the pressure valve

Re: Xantia rear sinking and no "Tick" from the pressure valve
The sinking rear suspension is probably caused by internal leakage in one of the rear suspension rams. It could also be the brake valve or the anti-sink valve, but those are more reliable.
The only way to isolate the problem is to disconnect the LHM return lines while it sinks and see which one has unexpected flow.
The lack of ticking could be due to a weak pump, or it could be that your pressure regulator has a very quiet tick.
