Hi all, new to the forum so hello.
I have had a 2004 C5 Estate for around 6 years now, really love the car!
The guy who does the servicing and MOT on the vehicle has identified a leak from the suspension system around the drivers side front strut and he doesn't have the scope to deal with it.
Is there anybody who could recommend a garage in the Birmingham area that would be able to undertake work on the suspension system, I'm guessing it's going to involve replacing the front struts.
Thanks in advance!

May be something as simple as the leak-back pipe. so don't despair.

Thanks Marc.
Is identifying where the source of the leak is something I could attempt to do myself?
I'm pretty much a novice at attempting these things myself but willing to have a go if it will help prolong the car.

To get some advice from the members here, the best thing you can do is provide some nice clear photos of the leaking area, then clean it up carefully and then check regularly to see where it is coming from. Use the 'Full Post Editor' option and there you will see an attachments tab, where you can browse your mobile or PC for photos, upload and then place these in your post.
This should help determine if it is a strut seal or a leak back pipe or something else. The leak back pipes on the front struts capture weeping LDS fluid from the struts and return this back to the reservoir, but the pipes can wear with age. If it is these, sometimes if lucky, you may have enough pipe depending where the leak is to cut it and re-join. The good news though is if it is the Leak Back pipe, they are still available from Citroen, whereas the struts are not.

Re: Good Citroen Garage In Brum Area
Brilliant, thanks Marc I'll have a go at identifying where it's coming from.
There is a citroen and peugeot breakers yard not far from me in West Bromwich which I have used to source a number of other parts previously and they tell me they have sets of struts so I will be able to get hold of some if needed.
Despite dealing with Citroens they couldn't guide me to a garage that could do the fitting though!

Re: Good Citroen Garage In Brum Area
If you find it needs a front strut do not discount using a Citroen dealer to do it if you provide the replacement. I had one replaced on our 2007 C5 and it took less than an hour. If it went somewhere else they may not have been familiar with the car or procedures so could have taken a lot longer.
If there is just a slight misting of oil on the strut then just raising to max height and wiping it off before the MOT may be all it needs.
