The immobiliser of my Citroën Xantia does not work properly anymore. I hope somebody can help me, since my car is now blocked somewhere on a parking lot.
Last week it already blocked two times (without using the wrong pincode), but worked fine on other occasions. I managed to fix it as follows:
1. Car blocked, I waited more than 30 minutes with the car locked, then removed the minus pole of the battery for 1 minute and connected it again, after which the system worked again.
2. Car blocked, tried the above again, it did not work. Then I removed the minus pole again for over 2 minutes and used the following procedure:
- Close drivers door
Switch on ignition fully and wait 4 minutes
Switch of ignition
open/close drivers door so interior light comes on/off
Wait 90 seconds
Switch on ignition
Enter code
However, after making some more drives, with the system working properly, the car blocked again. I have not been able to unlock the system since. Besides the above methods I have checked the fuses related to the immobiliser system, they are not blown. I observe the following:
As soon as I enter the first number of my code it already beeps twice accompanied with two flashes of the green light. Having entered my correct code 3 times the car blocks (red light flashes, green light is on, beeping sound). It takes half an hour for the resulting alarm to stop. As soon as I try it again afterwards, the green light comes on and my code does not work.
Any ideas what could be the problem/solution? Many thanks in advance!
