Broken dipstick on 2.0 HDi. Any dipsticks in metal?

Unread post by chris922 »

Hello,

I've been searching online and on this forum for a solution to get a better quality dipstick. For my Citroen Jumpy 2..0 HDi ii the replacement dipstick is the 1174G9 but it is also plastic.

If I have to cut and customize one that has a compatible top/sealing it would work.

I would appreciate some advice :)

EDIT:

I think I have found what i'm looking and I let you know if this was success. Sharing it here in case someone else is looking for the same thing.

Looks a better stick, what i did once was filled a filler can with the correct ammount of oil for the car , did a service redilled the engine with correct ammount of oil then put the stick in , pulled it out after a while and the reading on the stick wasnt far off what my old plastic type was, as long as you remeber the fist time you checked the level mark when you first dipped the level then your know where it needs to sit at as and when you service the engine. Thats how i did mine.
Husky. :? Thinking outside of the box is better than sitting in a dark one.
