C5 X7: What is this socket?

Unread post by dusk »

Hello. Which vehicle equipment does the white socket on the right belong to? It seems that electricity is received from the yellow cable on this socket in my vehicle. Could it be related to reverse gear light?

This is a picture of the control unit "BSI" - there are many connectors and fuses. The marked plug is the main power supply for many operations.

An experienced electronics technician can only recognise details by looking at the associated circuit diagram.

This circuit diagram can only be called up via the specific chassis number (VIN) on the service hotline (subject to a charge).

The forum offers this service to donors.

A complete guess, but it might be for the trailer wiring which would go to the boot area somewhere. This is only based on our 2007 C5 having a similar coloured wire which does this. You need to note the number code on the wires and if you can find where the wires appear elsewhere you could check the codes again to confirm it is the same wire. Otherwise you would need to look on a wiring diagram using the codes.

No, it's the Main harness power supply Paul. I have rotated the diagram to more match up with the Op's photo:

The 2 pin white connector in the photo is (7) in the table (AP).
The Trailer connection CAN + Trailer unit (when fitted) is handled by (9) PK1
