Which spheres, there are 7 on these vehicles and are different?

For your DW10CTED4 Estate:
  • Front Suspension Spheres (Corner) 50 Bar
  • Rear Suspension Speheres (Corner) 50 Bar
  • Stiffness Regulator / Accumulator (Front) 70 Bar
  • Stiffness Regulators / Accumulators (Rear) 52 Bar

It's not wise, not to change the stiffnes pheres!!
They are responsible for the soft and comfortable ride!!!

Kees.

I think he wants to change them all Kees, and the stiffness spheres will need changing at some point to. But they should all be kept to the same recommended pressures.

So comfort mode means riding on ALL 7 spheres.
Sport Mode means the centre spheres are deactivated and shut off, so you are only riding on the 4 corner spheres.

If spheres were losing pressure, the ride would be harsher / harder not softer.

I think replacing them won't make any difference to the condition you have described to be honest.

I'd be more concerned if the car was hitting the bump and it was launching or 'bouncing' off the bump! That would indicate a bad sphere (s).

Sorry, how would you check the spheres pressure? I suspect mine needs changing, as the ride is quite stiff.

Hydractive 3 spheres are not serviceable in the same way old BX spheres were. BX spheres could have the filler plug removed and replaced with a filler valve, and refilled with a tool from Technosir, however, the grey spheres on the hydractive cars have those ports welded up, preventing checking of and recharging of the spheres. Consequently, the only real way to diagnose good or bad spheres is by reviewing the cars suspension behaviour. Stiff suspension would generally suggest spheres that have lost their charge and need replacing.

But, you say the car is too soft at speedbumps? hmm.... Our X7 glides over 90% of road imperfections, but it does seem a bit too toghtly damped for a nice soft compliant ride over speedbumps. If you find the car too soft, try pressing the sport suspension button :shrugs:

There is a tester to check the tare pressure of a spring ball.

Every Citroen workshop has one and it works for both older LHM balls and newer LDS balls because the thread is identical. Many hobby mechanics have built such a device themselves.

To do this, the ball must be removed - screwed into the ball tester - and tested with oil pressure (regardless of whether LHM or LDS.
