Engine oil relay 2.0 bluehdi DW10FU

Unread post by pattap »

Sorry if this has been asked but I wasn't able to find an answer for this specific engine variant.

I have a relay 2.0 bluehdi with DW10FU engine. According to Citroen Approved Engine and Gearbox Oils section DW10FD and DW10FC need 0W30. This is the closest match to my engine code. Can I safely assume mine takes the same oil?

Also if 5w30 used would this by any chance throw the check engine light, assuming the right oil is 0w30?

Many thanks

Yes this is the ONLY oil grade permitted: 0W30 Oil that meets PSA specification B71 2312 for this engine.

So what does the word “relay” add to this question? A relay is an electrical piece of equipment and nothing to do with oil - so I thought. Is the word a proper noun deserving of a capital letter or an electrical item or is there such a thing as an engine oil relay? Maybe I have one on my Crossback.

Relay is the name of the Vehicle as badged in the UK Don, so the OP is providing his vehicle model :-D :

Other names are 'Boxer' for the Peugeot variant and 'Jumper' for the Citroen variant (non-UK models).

Thanks Marc, we have the Bpxer here but not the Relay.. Maybe that replaced the Berlingo. There are plenty of those here; in fact they were the market leader in their segment with the GM Combi following a fair way behind (in my estimation).

Citroen Relay: UK
Peugeot Boxer: UK
Citroen Jumper: Rest of World

All the same vehicle as per the picture Don. Berlingo still a smaller utility vehicle and still sold but with more electric options now.

Hi all, new to this forum so apologies beforehand if I have posted incorrectly.
Firstly may I just hop on this thread regarding correct oils and engine codes and ask where do you find the engine code ( 508 ws 2.0 bluehdi s/s 163bhp gt line 2020) on my car and is 0w30 the correct grade for said car ?, I've looked through the pdf owners manual and all it states is top up with manufacturers recommended grade. .... stumped !, any help would be much appreciated. 🤔

If you look at your VIN then the sixth, seventh and eighth characters are your engine type.

Please post your VIN in full without spaces - it will be automatically masked from public view after submitting your post & will only be visible to staff, then I can advise on the recommended grade for your vehicle.

So you need the following specification:

00W30
That meets PSA standard: B71 2312 (C1C2)

Thanks again for that, could I also ask what would the oil capacity be for the DW10FC engine please ?, as psa don't seem to enjoy releasing little bits of necessary information such as " capacities" in their handbooks . Thanks again.

They don't specify for the customer as it all depends on the engine variant and whether the engine is with or without residual oil in the filter and or the sump etc., so you just top it up using the dipstick. I can't tell you specifically the capacity on this engine, sorry.
