Here's one I prepared earlier - Mt Morris, 2nd highest peak in South Australia (but not that big, only 4,140ft)

I believe it should have had a metal pole with metal circles above the cairn - perhaps it blew away!!

I have now identified and plotted exactly 60 trig points throughout the Welsh Wander route, which we may have a chance to snap. However my prediction is that only around 6-8 will actually happen!!

It's been a busy day today. A ten mile run around my favourite forest, routine maintenance on the bikes plus the obligatory test rides and then slaving over a hot Chromebook organising volunteers for two parkrun this weekend and doing more work toward making the upcoming 2024 TT racing season a success

One thing I did do, as a break from the above was to give my new rattle gun a stern test... Polly's wheel studs - which I knew, from leaning on them with a breaker bar, were biblically tight...

The rattle gun might appear small but it made shirt work of those studs... I'm VERY impressed with it

And then, to round off the day, I baked a cake and finally got a quick read of the forum It's been a good day

Only 6 to 8?? It's only fair Mick that as your feet are in constant use whilst driving that Jim gets at least 10 trig points!

And I think it should be based on distance from the car to the Trig point, not altitude based. And you don't do it Mick, we need proof that Hi Vis Jim is at the Trig point and you're still at the car

Still on the subject of trig. pillars, I saw this rather sad and dejected one this morning...

A rather ignominious end for a once fine, upstanding member of the OS community...

The farmer moved it from the middle of one of his fields and broken in half, it's now a gate-blocker.

I wonder what happened to the top half and its flush bracket? No sign of either...

Polly the posh van has been earning her keep today...

Two complete parkrun kits are in there...

In fact, parkrun, spread over two of them today, and planning for a third tomorrow and preparing for a special on New Year's Day has kept me occupied since dawn and right up to 5PM with just a break for a decent phone chat to a good friend and a run to the station with my youngest - who wondered how I would fit her suitcases into Polly with all the parkrun kit resident... I did Polly is a Tardis

In fact Sian had a remarkably good trip back to London on the trains. We both feared the worst, given the tunnel flood out of St. Pancras, but she did MK to her home in South London in two hours... Good going under the circumstances

Tomorrow will be another full-on parkrun day... I'm in charge of the junior version so I'll be herding cats - it promises to be a big one as it's New Year's Eve
