You have the mechanical transponder codes mixed up. The transponder code should be 4 digits & can be a mix of letters and/or numbers eg B6FN
The mechanical cutting code is 9 digits, The first 6 digits are the direct cuts (in reverse) & will be the letters M-S? eg SRMNP1SA
If you PM me the long code i can show how it should be input to a cutting machine to cut it.
Chaves wrote: 18 May 2023, 22:08 Does that mean that someone with skills and equipment can program a transponder chip and send it to me by post without seeing my car or ECU?
The key can be cut without being at the car (assumung the code is correct & the locks have never been changed)
You cant program a chip alone with that code without being at the car. However you can program a chip directly to the CPH ready to start the car if it were removed from the car, you wouldnt even need the 4 digit code for this.

Apologies for being a rare poster here, had been very busy with other things. And thank you everyone for your replies. Back to my Peugeot. Good news, the key blade cut using the code actually fitted the car, the key turns the ignition. Next stage is to make a transponder chip.
But... when I try to start the engine, the engine makes a single click sound but does not rotate. Is this how immobiliser supposed to work or a sign of any problems with the starter? I expected the engine to rotate but not to start in the absence of fuel pump function, controlled by immobiliser.

No, the engine should still turn over even if there is no transponder chip, sounds like you have a separate issue with the starter circuit.

hai everyone, im having a similar issue with a 306 i bought as a non runner (2002 manual 1.6 tu5jp) and i found out someone that didnt know any better wrecked the eeprom chip in the original CPH (some caveman with a soldering iron had a shot at it and now its gone with a charred board) long story short i bought a new CPH and a spare ECU but im guessing neither belong to the same car as im still having a crank no start (relay, fuel pump and power ok for 2 seconds but no injection nor spark).
as id rather keep the inmobilizer, is it possible to pair them "in bench"? or should i just immo off with it and run an aftermarket inmobilizer?

Can you clarify whether your 'new' CPH is factory new and unprogrammed? And are you using a key with a new transponder chip?
