C5 - Braking System Fault - Car Won't Start

I've started getting a Braking System Fault, and when I get it the car won't start. It happens when I'm driving and it starts by flicking between braking system fault, power steering fault, ABS fault, and also the rev counter starts to fluctuate. If I keep driving the fault might clear, but if I stop the car when the fault is active it won't start again.

Took it to the local garage and they said it needed fuse board replacing, although I have my doubts. It was in for a week and when I got it back it has been running okay.

It seems like something might be causing a short circuit and causing the problems, and I have read about water getting into the ABS sensor cable if it's covering is loose/corroded.

It's just went and locked out again, Braking System Fault and won't start. It was right after I'd taken it for a jet wash, so that might tie in with water getting in somewhere?

I had the battery disconnected in the hope that this might reset the system and clear the fault but it hasn't (although also read that the fault needs to be cleared with a computer before the car will start again?)

Has anyone had similar, and how was it resolved?

Hi, Did you ever get to the bottom of this issue , I am having a similar issue with a 2011 c5 2.0 hdi ,I first got an error message saying" brake system faulty" then "power steering fault " , I stopped the car to see what was the issue and since then it has refused to start ,there is not crank when i turn the key to the start position .

any help you or info you could provide would be greatly appreciated

I think it was the sensors on the wheels (ABS?) getting water in them, as it usually happened in the wet and rarely in dry weather.
