Can I get some help , loaded diag version 9.97 peugeot software not Patched
trying to run program it says needs to be activated and you need to be authenticated before activation
Can you help with procedure to get program to work

Only VM versions of the DB are activated (patched) and require a laptop that can be virtualised.
A 9.97 (obsolete) can actually only be activated by the provider of this software against payment of the required fee.
If you have purchased an older diagnostic tool with the original Peugeot software from a PSA dealer, it is actually worthless because activation requires a paid account with PSA and the use of the software is also subject to a fee and the software must always be updated to the current version (free of charge) before use. A clone VCI can also be switched off by the hotline (this happens very rarely). Original software is worthless offline.
There are different providers - not all of them are solid and the different versions are not patchable with each other.
The current versions are 9.167 from MrRorry (50€) and 9.176 from JTR (16€).
The software costs nothing - only the activation must be paid for and no virus program - not even Defender - must be installed. WIN10 64Bit Pro required.
The appropriate 7.xx may also be sufficient for a 2015 car.

Hi thanks for quick reply, the reason I was asking if it was possible to activate software 9.97 ,A bit expensive £200- £300 for token licence

Not sure where you're getting that price for a token... it's 44.9 Euros per token as of today and you will need unpatched Diagbox software. One token will give you 7 days from purchase to use for one vehicle. But you really need to consider whether it will be worth all the hassle for one job. When you say additive counter reset, that to me means DPF additive fluid counter reset, which should not need service access as it's a maintenance operation, not a configuration.

With a "patched software version" (which is a forbidden activation) it is only possible to communicate "offline" with the ECUs - a connection to the PSA server is impossible. There are of course no "tokens" for this.
As Marc already wrote, I can't imagine that "resetting the additive counter" is a service access that requires an online version - nothing is reconfigured. But my car boxes are all made before 2015, so I've never had to solve this problem.
Maybe other forum members will get in touch who have been affected by this on newer cars.
The 9.68 VM is known to be very stable and can be used offline until 3/2021.

Thanks for quick reply, My experience tried to fill reset 2017 Citroen space wagen reset in eng ecu no problem fault light out
After aprox 2 weeks, fault returns ( I think after re fueling) with codes P1435-00 AND P1434-96 That will not clead
for additive pump/ tank new tank pump fitted
A visit to dealer, reset all Job Done FIXED
I think the price quote I got was to load activate licence to run software/ then your price for token/ for software to program for Vin
Question if you can down load sotware 9.124 with license from net .Would it be possible to buy token /software 44 euros
to program the vin supplied to them What you need to for 7 days

Somehow we are talking at cross purposes.
All offline software versions are not suitable for contacting the PSA server.
The prerequisites for being able to work "online" with a token are
Registration with the PSA service hotline
https://public.servicebox.peugeot.com/pages/index.jsp
and then the basic fee for Peugeot must first be booked and paid for 1 year - approx. 200€ per year for Peugeot only.
If you also want Citroen, it costs another €200 etc.
With this basic fee you also have access to the spare parts/general/characteristics etc. But not to repair instructions, wiring diagrams and diagnostics. But for a corresponding fee - you can read about this there - you can access this data - the duration of access determines the fee. For example, diagnostics can be carried out for a VIN for 7 days and costs around €45 (token).
With the basic fee (200€) you also receive the activation key for the software - which becomes active after payment of the respective fee.
The V09xx software could initially be downloaded free of charge from the hotline. This has now been removed because PSA customers already have the basic software and only need the updates. With MHH-Auto, it used to be possible to download the original software and then update it - the offline software is unsuitable because it contains changes. The only thing that helps is to search. The PSA hotline may provide the link for new free users.
All PSA Service Hotline products are not only available to authorised workshops, but to all users (with a few exceptions) who pay. However, PSA expects appropriate knowledge and suitable original VCI for diagnosis. However, I have mostly read that the Chinese crackers mostly work.
Since this is quite expensive fun, it only makes sense for independent workshops that frequently repair PSA vehicles.

I am going to reload my version 9.150 patched and see what I can do with it without having to
go on line.I am sure I can do injector coding egr etc as with my 9.68 ver.
However if I come up against 2015 / on additive reset I will try my best to see if it can be done
and report back to the forum success or fail

Hello,
the patched version 9.150 (Spanish origin) - not a VM - is a cancelled version - and less recommended.
The VM version 9.68 is far better.
If VM versions are not possible due to a lack of laptop configuration, there are direct versions available for an activation fee of €16.
