oil leak

I have a 2.0 8v xantia.
The engine is very slowly leaking oil from what appears to be behind the right hand upper front engine mount.
I am thinking that the head gasket is leaking oil (although oil in sump has not emulsified and water is clear).
Without knowing the engine, can anyone confirm that oil is pumped into the cylinder head from this region ?

On a 1.9 diesel the oil gets to the head at the front left corner, not sure about the petrols.
Whip the timing cover off, I've recently had a ZX td absolutely spew oil from the front camshaf oil seal, never seen one as bad, could be your problem also.

i to have this oil leak on my bx diesel and i suspect that it is coming from the head gasket. mine just passed its mot the garage said the leak was to much.

I have the same problem on mine 2.0 8v (xantia) petrol for a long time. I was hoping it wasn't the head gasket but can't find any other possebility.
Next week I will take the head off, hope it will cure the problem!!

Head gasket renewed and oil leak is gone [:)]
