Re: Catch All - the place for anything you want to discuss off a specific topic
I have just noticed this piece of rocking horse **** up for sale on ebay. Why RHS you ask? It is petrol, it is automatic AND it has Sat Nav. That is a combination I have been seeking for 3 years but it needs some work and having just spent a lot on the Subaru I can't see it makes sense to take it on now!! Any comments?

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Yes I know, couldn't it just, but I just don't have anywhere to keep it while sorting it out!!

Re: Catch All - the place for anything you want to discuss off a specific topic
A fifteen year old C5 in Bourrasque Blue by the looks of it. What could possibly go wrong ?
The windscreen trim was subject to a recall many many years ago - they were known to fly off.
Passenger window winder - well documented, reasonably easy fix.
Auto gearbox problem - just show it to Jim and he'll sort it out
Be prepared for a steering rack problem at some point - it may be today, it may be tomorrow.... but it'll definitely be at some point
The Sat Nav will be out of date and will remain out of date.
Windscreen wiper problem may raise its head - well documented and may be an easy fix, or may prove more exensive, both options are possible.
Suspension strut - not too bad, just ask those that have done it and have had no problems whatsoever
As it's a fixer-upper I think I'd be all out at £500. Any more than that and it's questionable if it's worth the aggro.

Re: Catch All - the place for anything you want to discuss off a specific topic
You have been reading my mind bobins!
Pretty much exactly how my summing up went although the Sat Nav being out of date would not worry me at all, I only use it for finding actual addresses when I've used my inbuilt navigation nose to get me to the town or village I need!! The rest of the things including the rack hold no fear for me and I would go to £600 to buy it, but it's not going to happen because I won't part with the MX3 so have no room!!

I was under the impression that all you had to do was lay your hands on an ill Citroen auto gearbox and chant some incantations and it would be cured

It was mine, Couple of weeks ago M6 Lancaster. A car was broken down and abandoned in middle lane, another car hit it on a dark rainy nite, pushed it in front of me and others. No serious injuries

I bet that made you tighten your grip on the seat
Glad you got out in one piece.
Presumably it's a write-off ? What next for you as a replacement ?

Not just Mick, I have been Japanese for the past three years.
I justify it as I have two Japanese granddaughters
