I have a 1.9TD engine going for sale & i have had a query as to whether or not it would fit a 98 model, I'am presuming that he has got the bosch injector system on his old engine, would the electrical connections suit other years of models?

An old TD will go into a newer car without any problems at all if you swap over the fuel pump. The basic engine blocks and internal components didn't change when the electronic fuel pump came in.
There are other bits and pieces that you may have to swap over too, e.g. if one has air con and the other hasn't the sumps will have to be swapped.
