Jim, do you own a spirit level to check your spirit level is accurate? And if so, do you get that spirit level calibrated?

I have plenty to choose from around here!

Happy to report that as of about 30 minutes ago, Polly's tyre is still good after a round trip to Daventry yesterday to take part in the Big Bear Rabbit Challenge. I think that particular problem is now put to bed but the track pump remains in the car for now

I managed 20 miles before my head said it was time to stop in no uncertain terms. It became clear I'm still not fully recovered from the concussion. A headache developed and I started to go dizzy and cross-eyed at 18 miles... I carefully made my way back to the aid station and called it a day!

I did get a rather nice medal for my efforts

And got to spend time with a lot of good friends

You meet the most lovely of people when running and strong bonds are formed...

Daventry Country Park is a lovely place to run and spend some quality time... We were lucky with the weather and only got rained on a couple of times... We even saw the sun. The Park is around the edges of a big reservoir - as can be seen in the Strava map - and one part of our run course ran over the top of the high dam wall. It's always a bit breezy across the dam but as yesterday wore on it became gale-force and we ended up running in italics across it, sideways

The legacy this morning is I'm still feeling a bit headachy and fuzzy and I have a very muddy pair of running shoes to clean...

Today is a rest day in all respects...

Happily, my head is now much better and today I've completed the first draft of the December edition of the 'From A To Z' column for the Citroenian Magazine...

It should be dropping onto the doormats of Citroen Car Club members just in time for Christmas...

18 miles!! I'd suffer after 18 feet!! Question, what do you listen to when running? And once the A to Z has been published can you post it here or do I need to pay the 40quid to read it?

18 miles is just warming up for me when I'm in ultra-marathon mode Ryan

It was only the head that prevented me running a lot further on Wednesday... And a wise decision it was to stop when I did...

I listen either to BBC 3CR local radio on BBC Sounds streamed from my mobile phone or my top 50 playlist via Amazon Music from my Garmin running watch. That playlist contains everything from the 60s right up to the present day... It would appear, prima-facie, very random but every track is a memory of significant happenings in my life and hearing each track takes me immediately back to what was happening when I first heard it

As an example, Penny Lane immediately transports me to happy memories of my long-departed eldest sister - it was her all-time favourite Beatles track

I listen via bone conducting headphones and can also take phone calls on them whilst running... Bone conductors also mean I can hear what's going on around me and easily chat to fellow runners.

As for my column, join the CCC as the magazine is a very, very good read indeed, my column being just a very small part of the magazine... I can't really scan it and post it here as that would violate copyright and land both the forum and I in deep trouble...

That's a very late Series 1 GT Neil and in white, very desirable... I'll be interested to see what it goes for...

Something resembling a telephone number I expect but the Cat D could depress the price a little...

At that price though, it would still be a reasonable buy even if it does need a bit of work... A good well-sorted GT, especially a Series 1, is worth its weight in gold...
