Dear Forum members
This is my first post so treat me gently please excuse any mistakes
I've read through several threads specifically
https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... GM#p692627
Btw in the above thread, the VIN number is visible of the OP so you may ADMIN wish to edit it out [done]
I would like to confirm a replacement battery for the following car
Details are
Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 BlueHDI 120 Diesel (2015-2018)
Engine code
DV6FC
Note 1
OE battery is EFB. Only replace with EFB battery
Series
(2013-2018)
Valves =8
Battery Reprogramming
Required
I have entered my registration on the site below and it has recommended
https://www.thebatteryshop.co.uk/yuasa- ... 9521-p.asp
I wanted to confirm/check
1) That is the correct battery
2) Based on the thread above in my post, I have gone with the recommended Yuasa brand
3) Whether it is worth upgrading to an AGM battery and if so which one?
4) An AGM battery would not be suitable due to the charging voltages supplied by the Alternator being incompatible
5) A local garage has said they could do it and would need to reprogram the Car CPU/battery management system
6) How long would it take them to do it?
7) They estimated it would take about 30 mins and charge about £20 to £30 pounds for labour if I supply the battery
8) Should the Garage follow the process outlined here for changing batteries and should I be worried if they don't ?!
https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 51&t=61997#
Thank you

If the vehicle was originally fitted with an EFB you can upgrade it to an AGM but not the other way around.

any ideas?
(The battery shop delivery charges are now similar to the battery price as they want to charge by the pallet )
I would suggest this as an alternative

This is the minimum specification:
Personally, I'd recommend a YUASA battery - they are recommended by many people here as a high-quality battery. The Yuasa code for the recommended battery for your Picasso is: YBX9096. YUASA sell them for £252, but you can get them for much less - like here from the battery shop at £111 inc. VAT:

This is an EFB Battery (or to be more precise this is what it should be fitted with) L3 760A/70AH, but certainly an EFB battery type. If you're looking to replace it a YUASA battery are generally well regarded here.

Re: Battery replacement for Citroen C4 Grand Picasso 1.6 BlueHDI 120 Diesel (series 2015-2018)
Hello
I bought and a garage installed the following
https://www.tayna.co.uk/car-batteries/yuasa/ybx7096/
Brand Yuasa
Product Code YBX7096
Range Yuasa YBX7000
Voltage 12 Volts
Technology EFB
Capacity (C20) 75 Ah
CCA (EN) 700 A
Length 278 mm
Width 175 mm
Height inc. terms 190 mm
Guarantee 4 Years
Barcode (EAN) 5050694029226
I ran battery tests on it and got the following results
using the following battery tester
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Car-Battery-Te ... B0BLNF9GVC
The video of the tests I have done is here I filmed them
https://www.kapwing.com/videos/65468f50dade36dc79f3536d
Have I run them correctly?
1) Is a LSI battery the same as a EFB I can't get an answer via searching online
2) Does the battery have a reasonable state of health for a new battery?
3) Should its state of health be close to 100%?
4) Does it need further slow charging?
5) I have this charger
https://www.amazon.co.uk/DSGKUU-Automat ... 09B6ND8PP/
6) I had the battery fitted yesterday afternoon and the stop-start was not working after it was fitted so have left it overnight
does the car need a good run or (4) above?
7) Have i got the wrong battery tester and should I return it a get this instead?
https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B08H8DT2MF/
Thank you

As a side note, depending on the age some PSA labels with the tyre pressures & RP number etc.
The one below is off my old C5 the bottom row shows the cranking amps of the original battery.
If it is AGM or EF this is printed next to the cranking amps. This one was just a regular flooded battery so it doesn’t say.
This one was a 720 CCA (EN)

Hello
Postscript update
After leaving approx 48 hours idle and a then motorway drive today for nearly 3 hours
the stop and start is intermittently working / nearly always
somehow it knows when I'm parking and does not switch off when I come to a stop
but does switch the engine off in traffic -algorithms?
I have the following label
and got the following test data on this video here
The video of the tests I have done is here I filmed them

So according to the label your battery CCA is 760A (EN) and its Enhanced Flooded.

Hello thanks for the fast reply
Yes I was aware and got the appropriate battery from Tanya
If you can see the 2 mins video of the tests I ran here
The video of the tests I have done is here I filmed them
https://www.kapwing.com/videos/65468f50dade36dc79f3536d
It does not give me the option of an EFB in the menu and I was wondering if one of the other options
match the EFB?
eg
my worry being
as per the video above
I'm not sure I am choosing the right menu maybe it should be LSI?
Or whether the battery tester can even test for EFB batteries as per the video?
and whether I should just get a different battery tester eg Toptom tester and use that as it gives EFB as a menu choice for testing?
The Yuasa battery I've had installed
has this spec
CCA (EN) 700 A
which I inputted into the test parameters in the video above
