Peugeot 508 Semi Automatic problem

I drive a 508 SR E-HDI SA, 1560 CC 62 reg. I have owned this since 2016 and it has been reliable till now. The problem is it takes a while for the gear to engage from the first time I engage it and even on motion. So when I drive I have to apply the break which takes the gear to A1, on acceleration, the engine keeps making a noise and when it changes to A2, showing it's now in second gear, the noise continues and I just have to hold the point to keep changing the gear. while all of this is happening the car is moving at a very slow pace. Even when I get it to A6, it takes a while to get the speed to 55 mph and it's making the same noise for a while until I get to 70 mph. I don't know what to do as I have heard two different things from the mechanics I visited. I will be happy if you can give me your opinion.

Sounds like the clutch is slipping.
