Roger, I'm so sorry to hear this and fingers crossed it's not too bad and can be made good without too much difficulty...

Re: Recognising the contributions of Marc "GiveMeABreak"
I've not been on the forum for some time so only saw this post today. Tried to get on several times over several months but couldn't find this forum! Several searches returned no results and I thought the forum had shut down, don't know what happened or why but was very disappointed.
During lockdown a local Peugeot / Citroen specialist closed their doors for good and now only do mobile mechanic work. This was a devastating blow to DIY owners in the area as they had a good stock of quality used parts at reasonable prices. Went there one day and it was locked up and there was a notice on the door, I assume they were a victim of lockdown and overheads of running the workshop during lockdown, with little or no income, was just too expensive. Thinking FCF had also shut down was another devastating blow, tried other forums but knowledge base nowhere near as good. Found the forum again yesterday while desperately searching the web to solve a gearbox problem. Thought it was an old post but noticed it was recent so tried, unsuccessfully, to log in but got a new password and tried again and here I am.
I've been a member since 2015 and totally agree with everything said on this thread, usually I only log on if I have a problem I can't solve myself and have often been helped by old posts, many from Marc, and replies to my posts, again many from Marc. It's too easy to ask for and expect help when we need it but how often do we say thank you? It costs nothing to say thank you when someone helps you and it makes them feel good and appreciated. I think I'm correct in saying that people like Mark give their time and share their knowledge free of charge, they're volunteers, and without them the forum would be nowhere near as good and may nor exist at all! We have all benefitted from his knowledge (and the knowledge of people like him) which has saved us all a fortune, hours of frustration and often solved problems garages couldn't. I'm pleased Jay-Bruce took the initiative to post this thread on behalf of all the forum members Marc has helped and all those he will help in the future.
I suspect I'll be on the forum more often from now as I have a Citroen, 3 Peugeot's and a backlog of problems to solve!
Kind Regards
Clyde.

Re: Recognising the contributions of Marc "GiveMeABreak"
Recognition should not only be "verbal", but through the appropriate donation.
The donation will make the great work of Marc and the team easier and of course more competent.
Although I have access to the PSA service hotline via a friendly company, I am therefore a "donor" and read the qualified contributions with interest.
Greetings Wolfgang

Once again Marc is going the extra mile to help someone. Can't thank him enough for his work at FCF. I doubt I'd see that anywhere else. Post a part question, answered virtually immediately. Thx Marc, you are appreciated. By the way.... NO BREAKS!!! now back to work!!

Re: Recognising the contributions of Marc "GiveMeABreak"
This is the man who helped me through the loading of DocBackup and Sedre using iso disk images and sat with me for 3 hours logged onto my computer until satisfied that the system was working correctly. Where on earth does that type of commitment come from.
That was only one example among many of the genuine help I have received. .It is incredably difficult to write after reading all the earlier comment without sounding like an echo.
I was very pleased to see this review and cannot say how girateful I am for all his help and of course the assistance of many others on this forum You certainly couldn't buy it for sure. So thanks to Marc and all on this close knitted Forum for all the help I have received both in times Past and inevitably in the future too

Re: Recognising the contributions of Marc "GiveMeABreak"
I once graced FCF very often when I was a Xantia driver. But moving to XM more now I dont come here often, however when I have and needed help Marc HAS NOT hesitated to help, weither a freqent user or not often, it doesnt matter either way.. I also agree an Oscar award for forum help should be awarded.

Re: Recognising the contributions of Marc "GiveMeABreak"
Marc is the true legend of the FCF! I beleive there are other FCF team members in the background, taking care of the whole site, but Marc is always the contact point or the front desk face for me. I can't imagine he has any private life, he must spend hours and hours every day patiently explaining us, how to repair our flying carpets
Marc, thanks a lot!!! Without your help my Xantia would not have reached its 20th birthday and my C5 would have spent unwillingly more time at the Cit. garrage
