In headlamp unit DRL LED failure

DS5 Prestige 2016 xenon headlamp.
A strip of the led lights have failed in RHD/NS headlamp, took the vehicle to Citroen dealer where I bought it and they say the whole lamp unit must be replaced at £1600 + labour.
Today I noticed exact same LEDs also now not working in driver's side but discovered switching on headlights made driver's side work again?? Anyone had same/similar probs with 2015/16+ DS5 or advice, are LEDs not replaceable in these units? Any help/suggestions very much appreciated.

That is correct, there are no replacement parts for the headlamps - failure requires a replacement headlamp. Having said that and assuming you have the LED and Discharge bulb combo type headlamp, there is a 'Driver Kit' available for the headlamps. So it may be this which is faulty and not the headlamp, as these are responsible for converting the AC high power to DC low power to operate the LEDs correctly.
