C5 heater fixed with bsi reset

Unread post by Agour »

On my c5 x7 the heater stopped working in the cabin.

Still blowing, just no heat. AC worked fine..

Did the BSI reset and it worked! https://www.frenchcarforum.co.uk/forum/ ... 51&t=61997

Car is now working fine again.

Just wanted to say thanks for the useful guide, and leave this thread here for anyone googling the issue in the future :)

No problem, sometimes this can reset the ECUs, as long as there's no problem with the blower motor itself, but I suspect in your case it was the AC ECU that needed a reset.

Turns out it has happened again.. Will it need to be plugged into a computer. Or is there anything I can check?

No, if it's repeating the issue, then there is something triggering it and it's recommended to get a diagnostic to ascertain the issue, as you don't want to be replacing parts randomly. If it's the AC ECU built into the climate control panel, it may just need replacing - but a diagnostic can at least provide some pointers.
