Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Couple of Whitley Bay photos
The sun barely broke through the clouds today. The house in the picture is marginally significant in that it appeared in the film version of "The Likely Lads"
A treat from the free car park emerging from the Tyne a very infrequently, if ever subject for POTD....
SOTD Ship of the Day.
If you have access to Marine Traffic you may be able to work out what it is called and where its going knowing that it emerged from the Mouth of the Tyne, round about 4-30 give or take half an hour.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Just from the look and some local knowledge I would guess that is a DFDS ferry to Amsterdam!!

Looks like I was close but no coconut, it was the DFDS Princess Seaways heading to IJmuiden/Velsen

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
It was much larger than the DFDS Princess Seaways more than twice the size which is why it caught the eye as something unusual. It was the AIDALUNA. Looks like its original itinerary was altered and it sailed from Northumbrian Quay on the Tyne heading for Invergordon Scotland. Arrived in the Tyne from Kristiansand Norway 5.01 today 11th October, Departed 16.04 for Invergordon.mickthemaverick wrote: 11 Oct 2023, 20:08 Just from the look and some local knowledge I would guess that is a DFDS ferry to Amsterdam!!![]()

I'm surprised it could get in to Kristiansand, last time was there it seemed quite small.
That was 1967 though.

Yes seemingly!
Renaultsport Technologies is expanding its range of rally cars with the introduction of Twingo Renaultsport R2 and Twingo Renaultsport R1. Designed for drivers looking for a modern, affordable and reliable rally car, these two next generation products make up the entry-level of a comprehensive range of competition cars that also includes the Clio Renaultsport R3 Access and Maxi.
