We went one better... A stack of pizzas delivered by a bloke in a scruffy old Fiesta. Uber Eats or some such bang-on-trend way of getting a take-away delivered...

Missed my hob and the things I regularly cook on it... Hopefully tomorrow my new oven and microwave will be operational...

I have some urgent baking to do... Flapjacks especially...

In other news, I was shocked to find Bluebell is just a month away from her MoT... How time flies... I thought it was nearer Christmas but forgot I had to get her MoT'd before I could go through the protracted business of re-registering her...

She needs a pair of new rear tyres - the old ones that are gawd-knows how old are showing signs of sidewall cracks so time to see them off... She had a new pair of fronts before the last MoT...

Black Circles have provided... They'll be fitted on Tuesday...

Pix is going in for her MoT in the morning...

For a while I've been having a bit of an issue with driving at night due to my eyesight... During the day I could see well enough at distance but my dash, especially Polly's, was a bit out of focus. At night, the dash was just a blur and my distant vision in the dark was bordering on dangerous.

I saw my optician about it and he's prescribed me some glasses especially for driving. They're tinted slightly yellow with a blue light filter and are varifocal to allow me to both see my dash clearly and also to see clearly the road ahead...

They work well and as a bonus, they're great for watching the TV

I feel a lot safer now, even during daylight hours...

Not cheap, but for safe driving and peace of mind, worth every penny

Not prescription, but I've got some glasses with a yellow tint, they are marketed as reducing glare. I think they work, reminded me to remember where I put them and transfer them to the HDi Coupe - much more night driving as the seasons change so it's time they were in use again

A good day today. I seem to be starting to recover a bit and I feel now I'm on the upward curve... Baby steps and all that...

Pix passed her MoT with a clean sheet and I gave Bluebell a very thorough pre-MoT and a service. She's all good

Not that there's much to do on a Series 1 AX service-wise

She'll have her new tyres fitted tomorrow...

And to round it off nicely, my kitchen is progressing rapidly... There's tiles going on the wall as I type this

And... I have a functional oven - which means I can do some baking tomorrow, just as soon as I retrieve my Kenwood Chef and cake tins from the garage attic...

This morning on my early trip to Tesco and back I was able to give my new driving glasses, the ones with Hoya Enroute lenses, a proper test in the dark..

If you'll excuse the idiom, the difference really is like night and day

They work brilliantly! I can stare directly at oncoming HID headlights now with absolutely no dazzle or loss of vision and seeing where I'm going

I'm continuing to improve health-wise, albeit slowly but going in the right direction

Tiling has started in my kitchen and today I'll be christening my new oven by baking a cake and a batch of flapjacks

But first, I'm off to have new tyres fitted to Bluebell...

There's almost a book in the contents of my blog Chris... Some it is now very historical and one day I must re-read it... I'm sure a lot can be skipped whilst still getting the gist of it...

A lot has changed in my life since 2008... These days there's very little of the old 2008 CitroJim left... Whether or not the new version is a better one is open to debate

Bluebell now has her new rear tyres fitted and after a run to B & Q to get yet more supplies for my new kitchen, she's now tucked up in her garage where she'll stay until her MoT on Tuesday...

She is driving absolutely magnificently - her only problem in this hot weather is that she suffers fuel vaporisation when parked up for a while in the full sun. The 20 minutes I spent in B & Q was enough to provoke it... The joys of running a car with an old-school carburettor...

Glad youaregetting an improvement in your health Jim. My variofocal glasses are a godsend for me, especially driving. See the road clearly through the top of the lenses, and the dash and instruments clear through the bottom. I also have photochromic lenses on then so are ideal sunnies too. They also react to sunlight through the glass which my last one's didn't. Moving technology everywhere nowadays

Gosh, it's lovely and much better in the metal than in photos. A very sound car and oh boy, does it sound gorgeous

The engine runs like a Swiss watch... Shows what an excellent job you've done sorting out all its issues Zel!
