Personally, I suspect it is a multiplexed pump. In case it is of any use here is the anomalous diagram showing separate additive ECU for a multiplexed pump:

1282: fuel additive ECU / (Not reliable)
1283: fuel additive pump
1320 is the engine ECU

I still have not got to the bottom of this. Is there any chance you can find a wiring diagram that shows the additive pump without the additive ECU????

No, because it is still coming up for this vehicle separately Phil. The only difference is multiplexed additive pump or not.
