Lovely picture Jim. Difficult to photograph mist but super contrast with the clear sky. The full scale cloud inversions are often a pale imitation on photographs as opposed to "with your own eyes".

Indeed, it's very hard to capture mist Neil... What looks absolutely sensational to the eye often looks very poor in a photo...
I think it just shows how good our brains are at image processing...

Is that an explanation for the often heard "I must be seeing things!"CitroJim wrote: 04 Oct 2023, 09:24 I think it just shows how good our brains are at image processing...
I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!

Yes I ask the stupid questions, because normally it is that simple.

Re: Picture(s) of the day....
Coincidentally a similar shade of blue to the barrel/train/planter above.
My picture of the day was a bad news image: For clarity that tin is upside down, without lid and on the dining room floor. Is/was about 3/4 full. Next to it was stood my youngest lad with an equally blue hand, trousers splodged and a few splatters on his face. (Very, very fortunately none in his eyes) whilst my wife was making tea he'd taken himself off to the under stairs cupboard (a favourite spot as Henry the Hoover lives there and flicking the light switch on also much bigger draw than anything Vtech and the like have produced!) I didn't realise that tin was in there still. So our young adventurer then fetched it out, took it to the dining room where a well judged throw seemingly got it upside down and de-lidded in one slick manoeuvre. I came downstairs just in time to see the carnage laid out before me.
What a mess! He's now likely to have a deep seated fear of white spirit but thankfully is a great deal less blue than when this photo was taken. Enough paint on his trousers and socks to soak through the fabric so more blue areas found when down to his nappy.
