I have one of these, I've probably used it five times. The last time, oddly, after a few years , was this morning. Had to go to dentist 20 miles away, can't physically drive the car at the moment because of my ankle, so had to take the bike. It looked like it was going to p1ss down, so I put it on over my summer bike jacket and bike jeans, as it also steams you alive. I can wear it with summer gear as mentioned, when it's around freezing and still I'm not uncomfortable at motorway speeds!

Of academic or journalistic interest only Jim, this is by far the most expensive AX I have seen come up at Auction recently.

I fear you may be in for a surprise there Ryan, with that mileage and 1 owner history it is the sort of car that will appeal to a serious Citroen collector. I personally think it will make 8-10k but only time will tell!!

If it was top of the range sports model then maybe 7k as a future investment but I still doubt it. A VW Corrado however....

My bet is that it will hit 12K....low miles etc etc....that will go in a collection never to be seen again.

If I had a spare 15K burning a hole in my pocket, I'd pay that for a very lovely GT... Not that one though as it's a series 2.

That is a lovely one Neil and thanks for posting it up. Not for me as it's a series 2. Now if it was a series 1 and as said above, I had lots of spare money, I'd buy it but it's academic as I haven't - not with what's going on in my house...

Lots of progress yesterday and Monday...

I did all the new plumbing yesterday, including a proper replumb of my outside tap. Happily, I had a complete absence of Welsh vegetables, bar a couple of tiny weeps on a couple of compression fittings I'd not nipped up quite tightly enough.

I did my usual and made the soldering practically invisible... I enjoy plumbing and did all I could to make it as neat as possible. It is an order of magnitude better than what was previously there... A right old leaky bodge-job...

I used, for the first time, lead-free solder (as the regulations says I must on potable water systems) and water-soluble flux that's safe on such systems. I had to practice a bit to get the 'knack' of using lead-free and found it absolutely fine. I was intrigued to see my gas man used MAPP gas when he plumbed in my hob gas feed. You do need a bit more heat with lead-free but a high quality propane torch does the job. I have a superb one that runs off a Calor Gas cylinder.

The first draw of water out of the new pipework looked like frothy milk! That was the flux washing out of the system... It looked spectacular

My old washing machine has done it's last wash and today I do my first in my new one

And all that excess solder on those copper elbows Horrible and shoddy And plastic elbows too Can't quite trust plastic yet at mains pressure when hidden and inaccessible behind kitchen units...

Time spent cleaning up is the key to a good joint Skull I take ages using steel wool until it shines like Bristol bacon

I can’t find a ‘finished’ photo but I remember it was a 10 hour job sorting that mess out to - copper, clipped, sleeved through walls, isolation valves, sealed holes all required before a clean and polish ….I couldn’t make a living at it ….takes me far too long to do it properly

My plumber made sure that all the soldering he did at mine with end feed fittings was fed in round the back of the fitting where you couldn't see it
