I pass one occasionally here in Basingstoke!

I think he lives quite near to me as he was parked outside the local corner shop one day!

Inside which I stupidly didn't get a picture of was just as good as the outside, parked in a busy street so I guess it was being used by someone locally, not a spot of rust anywhere on it, although they may have been underneath it but the body was clear of any bubbles.
I have a feeling our modern day cars wont last as long as this.

I think the sad thing is a lot of our current cars could last this long, but we might not want them to

Will anyone want to own a BMW X3 in 50 years time?... I really hope not!

Can't see any electronics lasting that long. Besides, what would you run it on?

Yes I think body wise they should last but electrics in these modern cars are just terrible, the ECU does way to much watching, slightest current wobble and on goes a light of it limps home, my old mini 850 when I was 18 oh all of 42 years ago was covered in electric tape and twisted wires then I went all upmarket with scotch locks, but it just kept running (apart from when it rained) I even fitted a single cassette tape player into it with 2 REAR, yes 2 rear speakers Eh oh cool was I, got rid of the 7 track and the single front dash speaker and put an Econo meter in there you know with the red, amber and green section for driving economically to be fair very rare went out of the amber, mostly red but it look way cool, and THEN I fitted an LED battery monitor as well, WOW was I the bees knees in my mustard coloured mini with a brown vinyl roof, not forgetting my leopard skin fluffy seat covers, tiny racing steering wheel and chrome spots on the front and a straight through exhaust to give that Umm well, odd sound, I must of looked a right...... anyway.
It never went on fire possibly the water leaks stifled the flames and it broke down every time it rained wipers only had one speed very S... L... O... W, leaked 5 ltr of oil a month, so it was basically doing it own oil changes, ahead of its time.
Ahhh my 1st car. fix it every Saturday, wash it every Sunday.

Jim, how on earth did you get that, it was in a walled town called Moncao, up the A3 to Valenca right turn along the river Minho I think it is called about 20min you are in Monacao, we stayed in-between the two in a small village called Friestas for our 1st week, then down Braga and across to another small town called Boticas for our last week which was super, about a 20min drive into Chaves, the villa owner showed me his beige coloured Renault 4 with dash change as he was passing one day, it was immaculate but I forgot to grab my phone was annoyed at that.
