The engine oil must meet the specifications for the engine along with the correct grade for Country it used in. If you don't know pop your VIN up and I can provide the info for you to look it up on our chart.

Ok, so you have an EP6CDT engine, with engine code 5FV.
So if you follow the guide here and look up EP6CDT in the list and then 5FV ....
viewtopic.php?t=75918
.... you will see that you require engine oil that meets PSA standards B71 2312 and the grade must be 0W30
You vehicle requires low SAPS oil for the emissions system (Emission control synthetic)

Thank you for that. I'll have a thorough read of this, to get an understanding.

Those of us living in the southern hemisphere can get some odd packaging as Total isn't readily available.

So this is a good example where 'Australia' is classified by PSA as a 'Very Arduous Country', so the OPs vehicle in this case would be recommended to use 5W30 Oil that conforms to the B71 2297 specification.
It's not so much a Brand, but the specifications it meets and the Country of operation (temperature, dust and other conditions etc.)

Yup, I'm in the UK, so a little less viscosity for me.
