DS5 Side mirrors

Unread post by domino3313 »

Hi,
I've got a problem with mirrors in my DS5. They don't work. I cannot control of moving both them. I've checked joypad and it's ok. Folding of mirrors work properly. Any ideas?
Thank you

Possible a break in the wiring at the door aperture where the wires enter the doors. A break in the wire from opening and closing the doors over time can cause this issue. So that's the first place to check.

The Fuse in the internal cabin fusebox is F2 that controls the folding mirrors - but if they are folding as you say, then it won't be that.

Also check the connection to the mirror control knob as it is possible that the connector at the back can become loose.

So, could one wire cause the problem with both mirrors ?

Yes, because the directional control of both the mirrors is all done on the driver's control pad. The wires to the passenger motor as well as the driver's side motor all have to come into the driver's door to the control pad and then out again and they all pass through the door aperture.

So , I've checked wires in doors, are fine. Mirror control knob and fuse are also in good condition. I don't know what is wrong. Thank you for helping me.

It's not so much the wires in the door that break but the wires between the door and the bodyshell.

My mistake I've checked the wires between the doors and the bodyshell of course.

Thank you guys for helping me 🙂. The fuse no 38 caused that fault.

I just checked - I missed the separate 3 Amp Fuse F38. Seems there are 2 fuses - one for the foldback and one for the electrochrome and movement, which also supplies the headlamp beam correction.

Glad you have it sorted.
