2003 Relay 2.0HDI MLUC gearbox speedo drive pinion - where can I get one asap?

2003 Relay 2.0hdi with MLUC gearbox, speedo not working (always showing zero). Sensor - working fine; wiring and instrument panel - working fine.
Sensor tested with a simple harness (LED+resistor to signal pin) and 12V supply as in the video. Instrument panel tested with this hand driven sensor and wife.
Now, I'm pretty sure it must be the drive pinion inside gearbox. However, the question is: where can I get the drive pinion for MLUC gearbox?

The speedometer is not checked in an MOT test so dont panic.

I take it the miles are not counting up either?
Is it a part that is not available from Citroen anymore?
Have you had a look in the hole where the sensor sits with a mirror to inspect it when turning the wheels?
Has anyone had the gearbox out it recently?

Yes Odometre doesn't work either, and Lexia showing P500 vehicle speed sensor correlation fault. With the sensor and the wiring/speedo tested the only culprit would be on the gearbox side.

Not sure if the part is still available from Citroen...I can't access the online database any more.

I haven't looked into the hole, maybe I should do that today and confirm if it is indeed not turning.
No gearbox job before the problem happened. The only thing I reckon might be related is that once I changed the ball joints when the drive shafts might be disturbed a bit. After that everything worked as it should for about 2500 miles until the speedo started to play up, eventually it stopped working.

Just checked and it Looks like the part is no longer available from Citroen anymore,
Pushing the drive shaft in if its not totally square can knock the drive off or damage it

Thanks for finding that out.
They don't check speedo at MOT even if it always reads zero? I was thinking about fitting a few small magnets on the drive shaft end and a magnet switch nearby. Should do the job if I can figure out the number of pulses per revolution required. If they don't check speedo at all then I'll save this effort and find the correct part later.

No they dont need to drive the car in the MOT apart from the car park to the ramp. Would be barely enough to even get a reading from the speedo in most cases. The exception would be if it had to be driven for a brake decelerometer check then it can be reported as not working. As long as there is no obvious damage to it or it doesn’t need driving on the road you should be ok
