Problem with front drop link

Unread post by KennyW »

Good Evening All

Just spent the last couple of days removing the front wheel hub in preparation for a new wheelbearing to pressed in.

During this my F/O/S drop link is seized fast into the pivot arm no amount of persuasion will move it.

Has anybody else had this problem ?

Also for forum moderators I can't seem to access the parts list request has my donor status expired.

Hi Kenny, that's strange - mine removed fairly easy. I think it's a straight shaft fitting that also goes through the endo of the suspension ram. I take it the nut removed ok and the shaft isn't rotating?

Hi Kenny, your Donor status is still active (you're still green) and there is no restriction to the Official parts request thread in any case - we just won't provide the data to non donating members.

I think Mike was tweaking the forum configuration, earlier today which resulted in some unexpected behaviour, so that may of been the cause. Try again and let me know if there are any issues.
Please note, I'm no longer active on the Forum, so won't respond to messages.

Graeme,

The shaft is not budging at all. I put this link on in April so I don't know what the problem is. I have fitted a few of these but never had a problem.

The nuts came off with no issues.

Thanks Marc, Will check the thread.
