rt6 mirascript attempt gone wrong. Now it won't even accept the usb

Hi,

I've watching the forum for a while, taking as much info as I can about mirascript since there isn't much documentation on it

I finally bit the bullet and attempted to follow this tutorial. viewtopic.php?t=63227

I got a friend's unit for a day. Copied his user files. All good so far. I turned on my unit with a brand new sd card. Put in the upgrade cd and ran it. The upgrade finished and I was greeted the radio. I turned off the unit, plugged in the usb and it asked me if I wanted to change the language to Czech or as it said it "Cestina".

At first I said no and no other window popped up. I turned the unit off and on again and was greeted again with the language change. This time I said yes hoping it would take me to the next option. It didn't. Now it won't even accept the usb. I've tried redoing the usb with all the scripts this time and it still won't accept it. Now I'm thinking of just redoing the usb but with one script at a time to see what clicks.

I decided to first make an account and reach out for help before making everything worse.

I need to note that my friend's unit is not in Czech and that when I went to copy his files I was first greeted with the read option, not with the write option like how the tutorial said it would.

Any kind of help would be welcome.

I think that most of us are frightened of what's happened, all I can offer is my commiserations. There may be someone who can help but you might have to wait as this is a very specialised area.

What car was your friend's unit from? Was it EXACTLY the same specification as yours?

My friend's unit is 980837786xt and mine is 98067084xt. They looked the same so i thought it should work

Yes but from what cars? Different numbers means that there will be differences.

You need to understand that the user files are specific to that vehicle and that vehicle's fitted options, as well as the user's data itself. Copying these over from another data card can set options on your own head unit that you don't have and write other settings that you may not be able to easily change.

As for the tutorial - it is designed to work as written and I've not had any issues from countless others who have used it. You have introduced another element here by using a different Head Unit that may be a different hardware version or even different architecture.

I can't help you in these circumstances - you will need to find out exactly what is missing or what options you need to change and look to see if there are other options available on the Mirascripts website under the RT6 section to see if these may assist.

@Chrislamp I don't suppose you downloaded the configuration of your own RT6 first and put it somewhere safe?
