Hello!
I'm interested in fitting front seats from a newer model Peugeot or Citroen into my trusty old C5 Mk1.
I can live with manual adjustment, and seat airbags and heaters have long been disabled anyway, so wiring won't be much of an issue, but I need to know if other seats can physically fit.
I remove mine along with the rails, so distance between rails, and distance between mounting holes on each rail, I figure, is what matters.
Does anyone know if these dimensions are the same as in other, newer models? If so, which?

I'm not sure which seats have caught your eye, but I'm going to fit new speakers to our X7 generation C5, I'll take some measurements for you while I've got it at the workshop. But back in my boy racer days, I Frankensteined many different seats into different cars, often fabricating runners for bucket seats.
However, it's worth noting that you can be relatively cavalier about mounting the seat if the seatbelt buckle is bolted to the floor pan, but if the seatbelt is on the seat runner, the seat mounting needs to be Bob on.
A common trick is to weld new lugs on to the new seats runners, but bare in mind what I said about seatbelt security, so I'd suggest you use 5mm thick flat bar, and only tack weld the lugs to the runners, then get a professional coded welder to fully weld them up.
Short answer is that with a little fabrication, any seat can be made to fit.
