Replacing front nearside ABS sensor

Unread post by KennyW »

Hi All,

I have had a permanent comms fault which I think is my FNS abs sensor. Fault has been there since I replaced front suspension pivot but never got around to changing sensor.

Just had a look at citroen service which says remove fusebox and unclip connector underneath etc,.

But can't find anything about how to remove fuse box holder.

In order to access the connector It's battery out and fusebox and ecu disconnected and plastic holder removed.

Any thoughts please

Well changed the sensor, bit of a faff but done.

Here is quick how to

1. jack up car and remove front wheel and dust shield.

2. Unscrew bolt holding sensor and pull sensor out be careful as it is in tight. I previously removed the sensor and damaged it.

3. Disconnect battery as per procedure

4. Remove plastic cover from Fusebox and disconnect fuse box and ECU move all the wiring connectors to the side.

5. There are 2 bolts securing the plastic box to the bodywork. Both on my model were located near to the wing, in front of the battery and close to the hydraulic strut.
Unscrew M6 ( 10mm socket). I moved the box to gain access to the ABS connector which was attached to the box.

6. Remove the cable and replace.

7. Refit as removal.

Hope this helps anybody else but I watch a You tube video and the bolts securing the Plastic box were located in different positions.
