HI, my wifes 3008, the ABS light is on. took it to the local garage who said the ABS switch has ruined the wheel bearing !!!! is this possible? cheers Terry.

ABS runs off a magnetic track in the bearing. Unlikely the sensor has taken the bearing out, but it's not unknown for the mag track to disintegrate, and it may have taken the sensor with it. Bearings are a bit pricey at around £100 for a decent one, be around £200 - £250 (plus a sensor if needed, no additional labour as it has to come off to get the bearing out. all in fitted I should think. Only fit a decent (e.g. SKF) bearing.
