Can someone with an HDi or other Xantia with the weight on the stud offside engine mount please take a photo of theirs for me?
I ended breaking mine off.
I have a vibration at 70mph in top gear. No other gear and not over 2500rpm in any other gear.
There are two holes in the top of the weight will help me to glue mine back on in the right orientation.
Also, I was going to use 2 part epoxy but wondering if a PU sealant would be more effective?

Re: Offside engine mount orientation- HDi
It'll need to be a 110 HDi Roger... Can't recall any other Xantia with this weight...
I'd have no confidence in any glues... But then that's me. Glue and I do not have a happy relationship. I'd be happier if it could be welded...
Given the circumstances of the vibration, there is a good chance it's a resonance of some sort and that weight/damper being missing will not help. It has to be there for good reason or it would never have been fitted!
Check all the other mounts too, especially the gearbox one under the LHM reservoir... Knowing the clutch has been dome recently, this mount could well be either damaged or incorrectly installed...

Can you post a photo of the part? I am having trouble visualising it.
I have a feeling that the vibrations may be driveshaft related.

Not sure you can weld it given that it appears to have a rubberised look to the underside and if this is somehow supposed to remove resonance through fine tuning then it should be replaced and not welded nor glued I guess.CitroJim wrote: ↑13 Jul 2023, 05:52 It'll need to be a 110 HDi Roger... Not sure if it is even available separately.

Re: Offside engine mount orientation- HDi
I've done a little video too for all to see.
I am sure this stud is part of the engine mount in which case, the mount has been replaced. I'm slightly confused as to how you would be expected to transfer this balance from one to the other...

What does the rubber bit touch against?
There is a similar rubber "bump" that threads on top of a 306 "donut mount" - but that limits upward movement against a curved steel piece that bolts over the mount of which I can't see any hint of similar on your pictures.

Got me worried now.MattBLancs wrote: ↑14 Jul 2023, 13:02 What does the rubber bit touch against?

I am sure the mount doesn't have the curved bar on the HDi because the mount sits further forward I recall.

I wouldn't worry too much as the 406 doesn't have the bar either. There is a "torque reaction link" on top of the donut mount on that.
Only curious what that is for is there's nothing for that to press against, then how does it work??

Jim said he believes it takes resonance out?MattBLancs wrote: ↑14 Jul 2023, 14:53I wouldn't worry too much as the 406 doesn't have the bar either. There is a "torque reaction link" on top of the donut mount on that.

Ah, here it is on the "parts Asia" site's diagrams:
