C5 X7 - rear suspension assembly removal

Has anyone undertaken the removal of a complete rear assembly, or can provide me with instructions / guidance? My garage is openly clutching at straws trying to resolve the rear suspension issue, which will involve switching out multiple parts and running up uneconomical costs. I have a potential donor car some way away, and would like to understand what I'm getting into...
