Gearbox drain plug torque
Does anyone know the tightening torque for the drain plug on an MLUC gearbox on a 2007 Peugeot Boxer 2198cc?

Just tight enough for it not to come undone. One handed pull on the spanner.

Thanks Peter. There is a fat copper washer it needs to compress so I would have expected there to be a specified torque. The main dealer didn't have a figure.

Re: Gearbox drain plug torque
I don't know if there is actually a specified torque figure. I have been repairing my own cars since 1956 and very rarely were figures specified, you just pulled it up until 'it felt right'. It was down to experience and nut/bolt size. A lot of 'modern' mechanics do them up far to tight and you run the risk of stripping the thread. Similar problem with screw on oil filters, all that's needed is tightening with one hand - I haven't lost one yet.
