Need a bit of help with an electrical connector

Unread post by darbuck »

Hi all,
I have a connector hanging down on the driver's side it is right up against the lower section of the door Pillar. It fell down when I was putting the housing back on the steering wheel. I can't figure out how to get the lower cover off the knee guard on the drivers side.Does anyone have any experience of this.

Are you referring to the driver's knee airbag - if so be very careful.

Under the steering column (above the pedals) there's 2 circulars knobs (b) that needs rotating a quarter turn, then the trim clips need releasing (a).

Disconnect the connector (at "c").
Detach the lamp (2) (at "d") using trim removal tools.

Remove:
  • The lamp (2)
  • The trim (1) under the fascia
