Re: Picture(s) of the day....
I spent today helping Bob clear out his deceased cousin's bungalow in Bricket Wood. The job has been ongoing for the last six weeks and now on the 3rd 6m skip! My first job today was to clean and valet the car ready for disposal:
It doesn't really show in those pics but it had been standing under trees for 2 months so you get the idea!
Next came moving the fourth lot of scrap metal from the workshop/shed out to the front ready for a fourth collection by the scrap metal chaps!
Among that heap is a very heavy engineering vice and a large bench vice, spot them if you can!!
We then piled over 400 books into Bob's car and took them to the recycling depot and I have another 100 in my car to go tomorrow!!

I used to be indecisive, now I'm not so sure!
I used to ride on two wheels, but now I need all four!

Only a couple of weeks late but this is an authentic picture I took today!! Notice how it would have helped to use the product on the can handle which self destructed as I picked it up!NewcastleFalcon wrote: 11 Jun 2023, 12:44 Today's POTD Can of the day, join in and make it a theme. POTD awaits an original photo of a tin of Hammerite or Waxoyl

Excellent Waxoyl photo! From the Hammerite Branding days. The Factory was /is less than 200 metres from where I dug the Blue lettered Mick brick from the footpath!mickthemaverick wrote: 28 Jun 2023, 20:02 We then piled over 400 books into Bob's car and took them to the recycling depot and I have another 100 in my car to go tomorrow!!![]()

I am planning on claiming those when I get up in the loft and have a rummage! I know I have one up there with my AA key and possibly my badge although I have a disturbing feeling I left the badge on my Jaguar XJ40 when I sold it!!NewcastleFalcon wrote: 28 Jun 2023, 20:15

If the timetable of the seasons hasn't shifted from a couple of years ago, poppies in the fields time as mentioned earlier is upon us. The naked eye sees the profusion more vividly than the images I managed on some of the longer range camera shots.

Met this hare during my run in the woods down in Somerset today...
I was expecting it to hare off as soon as it saw me but it came closer and even allowed itself to be photographed before ambling off...
Quite magical

I love the old 100E Prefect
When Ford named it, I bet they never thought the name of the car would be adopted by an alien visiting Earth to do a bit of research for the Hitch Hikers Guide to the Galaxy...

I think if its a prefect it has the 105e ohv engine. My first car was a Prefect only a bit earlier 1939.
